Wave Wall, 2006
Wave Wall is a wind driven kinetic sculpture mounted on LIGO’s Science Center Building. (LIGO is the acronym for Laser Interferometer Gravitational Wave Observatory in Livingston, La.) The goal of “Wave Wall” is to mirror underlying themes of LIGO’s mission to detect the existence of gravitational waves – predicted in Einstein’s Theory of Relativity. This lab was successful in detecting these waves in 2016.
