Le Pont Romaine, March 19 - 21, 1994
A series of mylar ribbons were suspended from the top rail of a two thousand year old Roman bridge (Le Pont Romaine) and extended to the Ovéze River, sixty feet below. The ribbons were held in the water with 25lb. stabilizing weights. Afternoon breezes lofted each up into the air creating a dance choreographed by the wind. Done in collaboration with a group of students from Ecole D'Art Aix En Provence, the piece, through the use of movement and reflectivity, made direct connections with the wind, sun and water and was presented in conjunction with the rebuilding of the region after a devastating flood.
