The Spring, 1989
The spring or well, has always played a special role in the human psyche, offering images of refuge, well being, or relief. The spring on Artpark property has played a similar role for the areas inhabitants for hundreds of years. My intention was to restore those feelings among the people who visit the site now. The outflow of the spring was used to create an oasis-like setting that not only celebrates the clarity and coolness of the water but also the years of human interaction this spring has hosted.
